PRESS RELEASE from Radiant Records

Neal Morse has been at the top of the Progressive Rock Genre for over 20 years now. In his partnership with

Drummer Mike Portnoy, the two have built a brand that is no doubt a force to be reckoned with. In the midst

of this universe of prog music, Neal Morse has always reserved his solo material for a special line up of stellar

musicians. Mike Portnoy and Bassist Randy George have been at the core of Morse’s solo recordings for the

past 12 years. Now for the very first time in his solo catalogue Neal is taking the band approach. With the

arrival of Keyboardist Bill Hubauer, and Guitarist Eric Gillette, doing a band album seemed the most logical

approach. Hubauer and Gillette are both formidable vocalists with strong presence. Both are skilled writers as

well. The Grand Experiment is the product of a few studio sessions and a total collaboration between all

members and the grand total is greater than the sum of the parts.

Now with “The Neal Morse Band” the guys will be hitting the US, Canada and Europe for a winter tour in

2015. Fans can expect a wealth of new music from the band as well as some fresh deep cuts from the

catalogue. The new album should be hitting the streets early February, 2015 although that is an estimated

release date. Watch for the forthcoming video for the title track “Grand Experiment” to be released soon.

FROM RADIANT EMAIL

For the first time ever prog icon Neal Morse came into a recording session with his long time friend and collaborator Mike Portnoy, Randy George, Bill Hubauer and Eric Gillette... with NOTHING! He had no prepared material at all. "I wanted to see what it would be like to create freely in the room with no preconceived notions. It was quite a risk! I made a lot of room for the other guys to create and express themselves and the result is outstanding! We wanted to experiment, do something a bit different, and see what everyone is capable of...we found out...in SPADES!" The results are obvious! This was a "grand experiment" that produced something far beyond anyone's expectations!

The main disc, containing 5 tracks, 2 long prog epics that are sure to be favorites for years to come, as well as 3 shorter songs including the catchy rocking title track "The Grand Experiment" is sure to blow the minds of all prog fans and appeal to anyone who loves hooky songwriting with virtuoso performances from some of the best musicians in the world.
